9/11: The Ordinary and The Extraordinary

Let me take you back to 2001 in order to tell you about the most memorable story I’ve ever touched.I call it the most memorable, because there’s a chance that hundreds of years from now someone will seek it out.

Anyone who’s curious about what it was like to be in the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001 can get a sense of the experience through the words of Michael Wright. One of the towers fell on his head, and he survived.

The other day I was on Quora — the website that enables people to ask questions and connect with others who have answers.Sometimes the questions are about ingredients, like: What’s the difference between baking powder and baking soda?

But other times they can be deeply personal. One that caught my eye read: “I am 29, have a useless degree, in debt, want to change career, am completely lost. How can I manage to pursue a new and great life?”
