Shabnam Mogharabi: From Lindsay Lohan to Leadership

For The Curious,

Cal Fussman Kobe Bryant

A lot of guests on this podcast have been known far and wide around the world — like Larry King and Kobe Bryant.

And yet when listeners e-mail me to recommend guests, they don’t usually ask me to send out requests to speak to President Trump or The Pope. They generally ask me to look into the lives of people many of us don’t know anything about. People who have great stories. Or people who can tell great stories.

I’m not sure how many of you know about Shabnam Mogharabi.

She was the perfect person for me to speak with at this time. Shabnam is the CEO of SoulPancake, a multi-platform storytelling company started about 10 years ago by the actor Rainn Wilson — whom you might recognize as the character Dwight Schrute on The Office.

Shabnam started out as a journalist just like I did, made her way into business, and her vision is one of the reasons that over the years SoulPancake has been named one of Fast Company’s Top Ten Most Innovative Companies in Video, and ranked 114th on the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America List.

That’s why it was great for me to sit down with her. She’s evolved in a way that I need to evolve in order to turn this podcast into a larger enterprise that might one day touch hundreds of millions of lives.

You can find out all about Shabnam on this week’s episode of Big Questions. Anyone who’s interested in how to evolve in business can take a lot from this conversation. Trust me, this is one wise woman.

Thanks for coming along on the journey. And if you like these episodes, please share them with someone you care about. It’s time to start growing...

Cheers,

Cal
